What are the advantages and differences between a lithium Portable Power Station and a gasoline Generator?
Portable Power Stations are more compact, provide greater utility with a variety or charging and outlet options, sustainable and eco friendly, zero emissions and fumes, more cost efficient, less maintenance and more durable.
What are some common use cases for a Portable Power Station?
• Camping, Van Life, Tailgating
• Festivals, BBQ’s and Parties
• Power Medical Devices such as C-PAP
• Emergency Home Backup
• Disaster relief, Bushfires, Cyclones, Flooding and widespread Power Outage
• Onsite Charging of Power Tool Batteries
• Onsite Charging for Laptops, Drones, Video and Photography Equipment
Can my Alpha BlackBee 1000 / 2000 be recharged while I am using it?
Yes. Your BlackBee 1000 or 2000 supports pass-through charging which allows you to charge while using your power station.
Can my Alpha BlackBee be used as a UPS?
No. The BlackBee can’t be used as a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). You need to manually press the power button to turn on the AC/USB/DC output, and it can not be turned on and off automatically.
How long can the Alpha BlackBee 1000 and 2000 power my devices?
Alpha BlackBee 1000 Working time = 1036Wh * 0.9 / Operating Power of the devices you are using.
Alpha BlackBee 2000 Working time = 2203Wh * 0.9 / Operating Power of the devices you are using.
Do the BlackBee 1000 and 2000 units have an MPPT controller?
Yes, all Alpha ESS energy systems have build-in MPPT controllers including the BlackBee units.
How do I know my BlackBee is charging?
You can check the LCD Display showing the input power (watts). If there is a value for “input power” this means your BlackBee is charging.
Can I keep my BlackBee charging all the time?
Technically, it is possible. However, it is not recommended to do so. Overcharging is harmful to the battery and can significantly impact its lifespan. Additionally, it might pose a risk to the user.
Why does it take so long to recharge the power station from 99% to 100%?
As the state of charge (SOC) decreases, the charging power gets higher. However, as the SOC increases, the internal battery pack voltage gradually rises towards the charging limit voltage and then enters the trickle charging stage with a lower charging rate, which can protect the battery from high current impact to damage the internal structure. Consequently, the charging speed will slow down during this trickle charging stage.
Are the output ports regulated, and if so, which ones are regulated?
All output ports of BlackBee 1000 are regulated, which means the voltage remains constant even as the battery power decreases.
Is the battery module in the BlackBee 1000 or 2000 replaceable?
No, the built-in battery is not replaceable.
Can I take my Portable Power Station on the plane?
No, unfortunately it is not possible to take any battery exceeding 1000Wh onto a plane.
